Did you know that anyone can get a haircut while visiting Magic Kingdom in Disney World? Yes! You can! I highly recommend making an appointment at the Harmony Barber Shop. A few notes:
- They only accept a few walk-in appointments, and book-up quickly.
- Gratuity is not included in the prices below, and are cash only.
- All of the stylists are state-licensed cosmetologists.
- There is a $10.00 charge for cancellations within a day of your appointment, or no-shows.
Where is Harmony Barber Shop in Magic Kingdom?
Harmony Barber Shop is located on Main Street, USA in Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney Resort in Florida. Once you get past security, and have entered the park then you will walk underneath the train station. The Harmony Barber Shop is on the left hand side tucked in the corner near the fire station.
First Haircut at Magic Kingdom!
The Harmony Barber Shop offers a unique experience for your child’s first haircut starting at $25.00. See our review below. In addition to the haircut you will receive:
- Official Milestone Certificate
- Mickey Ears hat with ‘First Haircut’ embroidered on it
- Keepsake locket of hair
Child’s Haircut at Harmony Barber Shop
Children 9 and under get the haircut starting at $18.00 plus a simple styling and spray. They will add glitter and Mickey confetti if you want it.
Adult Haircut at Magic Kingdom!
Yes, even adults can get their haircut while visiting Magic Kingdom! Adult haircuts start at $19.00 and include a haircut, and styling with spray.
Review of Baby’s First Haircut at Disney World!
We started a tradition of getting their first haircut in Disney World! It is such a special occasion, and deserves this special experience. We always stop in first thing in the morning to get an appointment that day.
Upon arrival we check-in at the desk, and wait our turn. It is a very small old-fashioned barber shop. There are no sinks to wash hair, so they use a spray bottle to wet the hair.
Little children use a booster seat to prop them up while in the chair. The stylists give the children very cool toys to play with to distract them while they get their haircut. These toys are ones you’d see at the nighttime parade. They spin, light-up, and some blow bubbles. They also give the kids a ton of stickers to keep them busy while they cut their hair.
After the haircut, you will get a locket of hair with a certificate, and a Mickey Ears hat that says ‘First Haircut’ on the back.
When will Harmony Barber Shop re-open?
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Harmony Barber Shop is still closed. I will update this post as soon as it re-opens.
Final thoughts
Getting a haircut in Magic Kingdom at Disney world really adds to the magical experience. Please note this barber shop is small, and only offers basic haircut services with some optional confetti and glitter spray. It is still worth it to make a trip here to experience this quaint little barber shop even once. We make it a point to go every trip as a tradition! If you travel late summer you can get their Back-to-School haircut a yearly tradition.
